Candia Development’s objective is to enhance our property development and continue to use it as a platform on which a powerful Group is built; a property development Group that constantly extends its broad spectrum of activities in Crete and is able to compete and survive in any operating environment or market condition.

Our mission is to identify the most exclusive, desirable, and suitable property locations in East Crete and, utilising our creativity, experience and technical expertise, fully integrate, in an environmentally friendly manner, the most extensive variety of high quality properties, aimed at becoming our clients’ dream second home or rental investment.

The company will provide high-quality, eco-friendly, affordable and comfortable residential second homes, holiday homes or rental homes in east Crete. It's properties will offer state-of-the-art living conditions, reflective of the rapid advancements in technology and a growing need for quality and eco-friendly second home housing.

Within the group, a management service department is available, in order that proud owners of new homes can enjoy specially designed services at very reasonable rates which aim to maintain and improve the home, preserving its initial development while safeguarding the buyer’s interests.

Our Future

We are very optimistic about the future and feel that the property market in East Crete will continue to boomWe are very optimistic about the future. We feel that the property market in East Crete will continue to boom, especially while the Greek Government has declared the area ‘the most favoured area for receiving grants', with between 40% - 60% available for 5* Hotels, spa and golf courses. Another substantial Government grant of around EUR 28,000,000 will enable Sitia airport to have a terminal capable of taking 7 flights at anyone time. Once fully open (scheduled for Spring 2012) then the car journey to Makriyialos will be around 35 minutes.

Firmly walking on successful grounds, we are constantly planning our future steps. We will be moving to new locations and offer a greater variety of properties. Being firm believers in the idea of ‘creating lifestyles’ rather than simply constructing houses, we will continue our efforts to enrich lifestyle in East Crete by contributing to all its important aspects, ranging from leisure and amusement facilities, to sports facilities, all the way to educational facilities.

Candia Property Management Services (CPMS) is a dedicated company where proud owners of new homes can enjoy specially designed services at very reasonable rates; services designed to maintain and improve the home, preserve its initial development, and safeguard the buyer’s interests. President:
Chris Niemeijer.

Chris is a Dutch businessman who has worked in the Crete construction industry for many years. He has proven project management skills in the construction industry and proven leadership skills in various commercial industries. He has an open minded and flexible approach to all business issues, which ensures maximum results and financial return. Chris also has International and European contacts in the real estate market, very close relationships with eminent European estate agents, and is well known by several large property developers across Europe.
Vice President:
Kevin O’Sullivan

Kevin brings different skill sets to the company, coming from a UK corporate sales & marketing background, with a strong focus on commercial operations and project management, and extremely focused customer service skills that he will leverage for Candia Developments. With proven corporate business development skills to grow market share and shareholder value, Kevin also has wide experience in developing brand awareness campaigns and strategic marketing solutions.
Board Member:
George Pavlidis

In George, together with his brother Manolis, founders of Pavlidis Technical Firm LTD Company based in Ierapetra, Candia has on board the foremost civil engineering, architect and Greek project Management Company in Southern Crete. Experts in local planning and building policies, they have all the knowledge for each building project. Able to complete the full series of architectural and structural designs on any kind of residence, villas, resorts or hotels, and also able to deliver "turn key" constructions of high quality.
Board Member:
Mr. Sander Hulshoff

Sander is a very successful entrepreneur from Holland and the main investor of the company. With a degree in law, Sander is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of several Dutch companies in the IT market, positions he has held for more than 25 years. Having successfully created property investments in Spain, Sander started to extend his operations to Crete to underwrite Candia Development projects. Sander is responsible for the long-term direction of Candia Developments S.A., and is overseeing the day-to-day operations, with a focus on product development and new investments.
Architectural Design:
Konstantinos Korakakis

Konstantinos has been involved with high-value residential and resort design projects for the past fifteen years in Greece, Italy and London. His work is based on the fundamental principles of architectural evolution, and integrates aesthetics, functionality, technology, and individuality in every aspect of a habitable build with surrounding space. Always considering the environment, Konstantinos focuses his efforts on conceiving and evolving green concepts of bespoke design by applying all the latest technological and life style amenities in relation to the landscape formation and environmental characteristics.
